FRIENDS OF THE RANCH
Much Obliged
There are any number of kind gestures and assistance along the way in creating Bear Canyon Ranch. A day does not set into the West when we don’t tip our hat to those that have helped make us a different Western.
Guy + Terry Richter
Guy and his lovely bride were the real estate experts when we first looked into purchasing property in the area. They also played a y-u-g-e part in the acquisition of our second ranch and have introduced us to all the neighbors we now count as best friends. We look at the two of them as the Roy Rogers and Dale Evans of the mountain.
Lisa McGuirk
Researcher, writer extraordinaire. Lisa is a fellow FlyerTalker and volunteered her expertise to help create the history of the area.
Jim Allie
Jim has done more work at the ranch than anyone else other than me. His skills with a skid steer are amazing and he has never shied away from helping out. He gifted us a complete leather bound collection of Louie L'Amour books and the Jim Allie Reading Library is named in his honor in the Lookout Tower.
Rob, Jared, Murph
If there ever were a Three Musketeers of construction, these three would be them. Unbelievably talented in building things—they built our Lookout Tower, our Livery Stable, the Stagecoach Stop, The Retreat, the Road House and they are also creating genius with building our Greenhouse and venue outhouses.
Trish + Robbie Muehlbauer
Some of our favorite things at the ranch were acquired or gifted from the vast collections of Trish' father, Bob Louden—the Buffalo head in the barn, the Navajo rug collection in the library, western metal art displayed around the ranch and much more. Trish + Robbie (her son) have become favorite curators to the ranch.
Sue Bell
This fabulous friend spurred the idea of "a truck named sue" which is so aptly named in her honor.
Denny Post
Julie's lifetime BFF and former president of Red Robin restaurants and senior marketing executive at Starbucks is a frequent visitor to the ranch plying us with curated art, home furnishings and pastry from our favorite place in Santa Fe.
Scott + Denise VanSchaardenburg
Scott was the architect/engineer for our Lookout Tower and he and Denise gifted us the hand-carved seven-foot "Big Indian" sculpture we have in the Hacienda.
